GCMS Educators
GCMS is staffed by highly trained and dedicated teams of Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECE), qualified Montessori teachers (AMI or MACTE accredited), and talented Early Childhood Assistants with an art, music or language specialty. They work as a team to develop the best programs for children at GCMS.

GCMS staff must go through a rigorous screening process that includes demonstrating their values and skills, providing a Police Reference Check and having a valid Standard First Aid and Infant and Child CPR certification. Once selected, new GCMS staff participate in orientation and training on GCMS policies and procedures, Ministry of Education regulations and GCMS curriculum.

The Role of GCMS Educators

The roles ofeducators at GCMS are demonstrators, observers, facilitators and co-learners, who work andlearn together with the children.

Educators act as positive role models and demonstrate God’s love through each area of learning. They share the gospel and teach about Jesus Christ. They pray with children and help them to experience God’s word daily in their lives, encouraging the children to develop a personal relationship with God. Christian-related educational activities are also integrated with the Montessori curriculum in different learning areas. · During the “Montessori work cycle” in the morning, the educators scaffold children’s learning experience by observing children’s work and promoting learning through implementing and encouraging activities that raise the children’s skills to the next level.

During the “play-based learning” period in the afternoon, educators integrate children’s ideas and facilitate their learning by providing relevant materials, asking open-ended questions and encouraging exploration.

At GCMS, we also recognize the importance of continued professional learning and thus provide plenty of opportunities for GCMS educators to gain a deeper understanding of child development and program planning. GCMS also offers field placements to students from an accredited college of Early Childhood Education programs.
