In addition to the Montessori curriculum in the morning, GCMS also implements Emergent Curriculum and Play-based learning in the afternoon, operated by Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECE).
A wide variety of interesting and open-ended materials are provided for children to explore, inquire, manipulate and investigate, which support the development of imagination, creativity, inquiry, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
The educators spend time observing, listening and interacting with the children. Based on the children’s interests, skills and needs that are being observed, the GCMS educators enrich the curriculum by asking questions and implementing activities to further expand children’s thinking and learning.
